Prep (Dead) Week

Please Note: No examination (unit or final) may be scheduled seven calendar days prior to the first scheduled day of semester examinations, except for specific types of courses. (University Handbook F70)

Inclement Weather Interruption

The weather event on Wednesday, December 15th, caused significant disruption to many final examination plans.

Salina campus:

K-State Salinafinal exams have been canceled for the rest of the week due to continued complications from Wednesday’s events. Students are encouraged to contact your instructors with any questions or concerns.

Manhattan campus:

Final exams scheduled after 4 p.m. on Dec. 15: Any exam that was postponed due to weather on Dec. 15 is rescheduled for Friday, Dec. 17, at the same location, but two hours earlier than originally scheduled, based on the Set-Examination Schedule, as listed below:

Group Exams

Original Scheduled Time

New Scheduled Time

Wednesday, December 15th, 6:20-8:10pm

Friday, December 17th, 4:10-6:00pm

Regular Session Course Exams

Original Scheduled Time

New Scheduled Time

Wednesday, December 15th, 4:10-6:00pm

Friday, December 17th, 2:00-3:50pm

Wednesday, December 15th, 6:20-8:10pm

Friday, December 17th, 4:10-6:00pm

**Room location should be the same and you will be notified if there is an update to the location based on conflicts with Friday exams.  Check your KSIS Schedule for updates.

Due to the large number of sections being moved, students should make every effort to complete the course as assigned. Given the unusual circumstances, students who are unable to take the exam on the new day and time should work directly with their instructor to identify alternatives. Please note that the instructor has no control over the schedule provided and that we are all working to address the emergency situation. Your grace and flexibility are appreciated.

Final exams given from 2-3:50 p.m. December 15th: Some final examinations were in process during the weather event. We understand that students may have felt unsafe or anxious during the exam and some exams may have been cut short. In such instances, we ask that you work directly with your instructor regarding options to complete your exam. Students registered with the Student Access Center can continue to work with that office for accommodation.
