The K-State difference
K-State's accounting department was one of only 10 programs in the nation to receive a prestigious grant from the Accounting Education Change Commission, or AECC. This nearly $250,000 grant was used to support a comprehensive revision in our curriculum, making K-State a model for accounting education throughout the U.S.
As part of the College of Business Administration, accounting students also have the exclusive opportunity to participate in Career Development, the college’s professional development program. It’s three components – Professional Advantage, Executive Mentor and Career Coach – provide unmatched training and support.

Suggested coursework
Students will take at least one course in each of the core areas of business — accounting, finance, management and marketing — before pursuing the required courses in the accounting major. The required accounting courses, which are generally taken in the junior and senior years, cover all areas of accounting.
To encourage breadth and depth later in the student’s career, all business students will be required to complete a nine credit hours thematic sequence in an area of professional and/or personal interest outside the college.
